Good and cool resources for your tacky website
Hey there, are you under construction?
Here is some of my favorite web art. As you may have noticed, I’m a poser and use Squarespace; which will probably stay that way until I live in a little cabin with a garden and have time to build dillcomics.com from scratch. I get HTML, I get CSS, I kinda get PHP. We could totally be friends. Maybe not Javascript though.
Preamble over. Link generously.
Pixel Sea - use the search tool to find some good flair or hit the random button to see what blesses your screen on this fine day. Make sure the sound is up for some satisfying audio every time you hit search. Clicking on a gif will prompt you to save it. Unfortunately, a lot of these have existed online for so long that their original source is unknown. If you happen to know it, please contact the devs.
90s cursor effects - I am honestly not sure what qualifies as 90s in this year of our edgelord, but these effects are fun to play around with. I haven’t used any on this website. I just open this link and shake the cursor like a maniac.
Toyland toybox - I am truly impressed by this collection of pixel art. There are just so many to look at it’s like being in a tiny pixel museum.
omg.lol - it’s this thing federators love in their little fediverses. With their instances that don’t mean “that one time”, and their DNS servers that Do Stand for Something?? Anyway, if you are a hardcore social media fiend then maybe this is a good alternative. I get a little overwhelmed (just in general) so it’s a heh, cool for me, but I am very happy it exists. And I’m sure it’s real cool, I just haven’t delved much into that side of things yet.
To cap it off, here’s a whole writeup on HTML and how it’s cool etc, etc. It would be insane to list all of these links and contribute nothing (values of yore), so here are some stickers I made that you can use (please credit):
